Megan & Rob's E-Session Sneak Peek

Edited: **Slideshow link has been added to the bottom.**
Megan & Rob are one of the sweetest couples I have been around. They are so cute together and were so fun to spend time with.
We did their engagement session at the Martha Washington in Abingdon. It was my first time to go there. Since it was freezing cold and raining, we spent most of our time indoors. The staff were so friendly and accommodating to us. It was a great experience.
Megan & Rob, enjoy your sneak peek!

I loved this shot through the front windows.

I am looking forward to Megan & Rob's wedding next December.
There will be a slideshow link added just as soon as I can get a reliable internet connection to upload the show and gallery.
Check back soon!

Happy Holidays!

Below is the Holiday Greeting I emailed out to friends and clients.Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
We hope this email greeting finds you and your family well. We are currently in Middle Tennessee visiting my family and will go to Cleveland to visit the Skeltons on Christmas Eve. We are doing well in Piney Flats (Johnson City area) and are enjoying finally being in our own house again! Wesley is still enjoying school and made all As & Bs in a very difficult semester. Luckily for us, next semester is supposed to be even harder! We only have 2 1/2 more years until he is finished. He has expanded his woodworking equipment in the garage workshop and has successfully lost part of a finger on Friday-what a way to start Christmas break!
I am LOVING my new school and am loving that I love my job (how's that for a lot of love?!).

Skelton Photography is doing well with lots of family sessions and 4 weddings this year. We are hoping to continue to expand and have more business in 2009, so be sure to spread the word. Please check for updates on our blog- I often post family pictures and information on there as well so you can keep up with us all year.
I am attaching our Christmas cards for 2008 for you to enjoy. Yes, I said cardS. I couldn't choose between the two pictures, so I printed both. You are the lucky ones to see both of them!
May you receive many blessings and make wonderful memories in 2009.
Happy Holidays!
Love,
Wesley & Denise Skelton

Maggie's 2nd Christmas

You know there MUST be a Christmas post of Maggie's 2nd Christmas! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family including our amazingly smart and oh-so-cute niece, Maggie! We had Maggie's Christmas session one Sunday afternoon before lunch and bribed her with pieces of bread. I know, I know, what kind of people are we?! The kind who want cute pictures of Maggie for Christmas!

This is my favorite (as you can tell by the current blog header and my previous post about my Maggie ornament).

Stay tuned for lots holiday fun - and I must tell you that we spent the first night of my Christmas break in the ER with Wesley. Apparently, he should NOT work with machinery with blades (or he will lose more finger parts). See pictures of our holiday so far on my Facebook.
Merry Christmas!
xoxo

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Now that I have my Maggie ornament! :)

Thanks so much to Tabetha for getting this made for me and out so quickly.
If you would like to order one with a picture from one of your sessions, please email me.

And I have to share Maggie's 1st handmade ornament. We always make these ornaments with our kids at school and this year I decided Maggie needed to make them too. This one I saved for myself because Maggie made it herself! The handprint is upside down because she took an extra ball, stuck it in her painted hand (after we had finished) and said, "Again!"
If you want to make this ornament with your little ones (or big ones for that matter!), you need:
*blue ornaments (this year we chose the plastic kind-WONDERFUL decision)
*white craft paint
*paint pens
*ribbon
*an egg carton (optional)
*a kid!
Paint the hand with the white craft paint, and have the child hold the ball in his/her hand tightly (good luck keeping a 17 month old from "squishing" her fingers!) and then let go. The ornament should be sitting in the palm of the child's hand with the hanger pointing up (Maggie's is perfectly upside down in the picture.)
Put the ornament upside down in the egg carton to dry.
Once the paint is dry, use the paint pens to draw scarves, hats, eyes, mouths, arms, and buttons on the fingers aka snowmen.
Write the child's name and the year on the back of the ornament.
Once this paint is dry, tie the poem below on the ornament and enjoy!
Poem for Ornament:

These aren't just five snowmen
as anyone can see.
I made them with my hand
which is a part of me.
Now each year when you trim the tree
you will look back and recall
Christmas of 2008.
When my hand was just this small!

The Reynolds Family

First, I want to thank Leslie for waiting so patiently for this post! She's already seen her images, but of course this family needs a blog post.
As you remember from my preview post, we got lots of great snow the day of the Reynolds' family session.

After we played in the snow, we went inside Leslie's parents' house to play in the kids' play room.

Mr. Cooper loves cars-he was so serious about his little town that was set up.

Can you say "Ball Hoarder?" :)

Leslie and Cooper playing.

These next three are so fun!

This family is the greatest!

Then, Leslie's parents came up to play with the kiddos.

Cooper and Cane (like Candy Cane) enjoying the beautiful Christmas tree.

I LOVE kids in their pajamas! Brylee's face cracks me up in this picture. "Hmm, how is he doing that?"

Leslie, thanks so much for calling me to set up a session! I had a great time with your family and I can't wait to do it again!
Merry Christmas!

The McMurray Family

I love this family so much that I went to their house TWICE in one week! :) How's that for love?! As I mentioned in my previous post, Carson & Caylee both had walking pneumonia when I went for their session. Caylee was starting to bounce back and Carson was permanently attached to the couch. Bless his heart! Tina said all day he kept saying, "I want Denise to come take my picture." Love him!! I went back on Thursday to get some of Carson & some with Tina's parents. We had a great time (although things didn't start so smoothly-we overcame it, Tina!)!!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED the snow!
We were able to really focus on Caylee since Carson was attached to the couch. She is such a beautiful girl!!

Chad & Carson did a little light reading.

This family LOVES books!

The ONE time Carson perked up-when they read Hello, Smokey! He even sang Rocky Top for me.

I am in love with these eyelashes.

We were getting some shots of Chad & Tina, but Caylee didn't want to be left out!

Cousin Emma even came over for a few cousin shots.

Poor baby. He was so sick.

When I went back Thursday, Tina's parents came over for picture fun.

Carson was feeling better.
He played some Jingle Drums for me! :)

This is MY FAVORITE shot!!! You can see what Caylee thinks of her rockstar brother!

This one was actually from Saturday when Chad's parents were there.

McFamily-I LOVE you!!
I hope you enjoy your slideshow and gallery of images.
Merry Christmas!
